NS check-up/The last post

On Monday, I went to Depot road for my NS medical check-up.

I had to leave my phone in a tiny locker and scan my bag.

When I got to the counter to for the start of the whole procedure, the woman at the counter gave me a pink piece of paper and scanned my I.C. She told me that I didn’t complete my online registration for the check-up. She asked me if I had been here before, I said no. She insisted I was here before, “a long time ago, it’s just that I don’t remember”. Because it said medical review and I kept reassuring her that I had not been here before. Then She sent me to another counter to do the booking for the medical appointment.

At the other counter, another woman helped me get through the process, till she saw that my letter I had received for this said “medical review” and she checked my medical booking records but there was no previous check-ups booked. She took the pink paper back and sent me to the next room for the start of the check-up.

I passed the guy at the counter my papers and he had a puzzled expression on his face. He asked me if I had been here before and I said no. He told me to sit down first. Eventually another guy brought me back to the starting counter, she said again that I had been here before, I said I haven’t. Eventually, I went back to the main room for the medical check-ups.

Eventually, I started the tests, first the ear test went fine, then I was sent to the blood test. At that station, the man who was taking my blood recognized me and said that he was the one who did the finger prick blood test at KK hospital when I was there. He took my blood while talking to me about stuff, after that, he gave me a card and I had to rate his performance, I put highly satisfied for all cause I don’t see why it was bad in anyway. He asked me which doctor I’m seeing for my regular check-ups at KKH. I answered and he told the guy taking blood on his left, apparently the guy had cancer too. He (the guy taking my blood) sent his regards to my parents and sent me to the next station.

The dental check-up went well and so did the eye check-up. At the X-ray room, there were 5 guys and they asked us to remove our shirts. This was useless shirtless moment #1 as while waiting, the other guys had to just stand in a small room with no shirt. They could have just asked us to do so inside the X-ray theater. Then I was sent to the 6th station. %#*$@ had to remove shirt again for no reason besides the ECG where they measured I’m not sure what. The guy, after the test asked me if I wanted to do NS (cause of my medical history”, without thinking, I said I guess I’m alright with it (not true) and moved to get my height and weight measured. Then I waited for a long time, and finally my turn arrived. The guy talked to me about my medical history and then asked me if I wanted to do NS, this time I said no. Then he said, most probably I have to anyway, but the most minimal duty. Then I got sent back out to the room. I got my stuff back and waited for a very long time. I realised I hadn’t dropped my key for the locker to keep my stuff in and so I dug around in my bag and dropped the key in. After a while more, my name was called, I had to go for a check-up at another hospital in July, then the guy said that I could go already. I asked about the last room that everyone else was going to, he said go and check. In the next room (a test that is said to take 2-3 hours to complete), they checked my papers and asked me if I had been here before. Anyway, they said that they were all full and I had to probably wait for an hour. Another guy asked me if I had taken my picture (which most others did at the start of the whole thing) I said no and was brought back to the first counter. The woman said I was here before to the man and eventually explained that I didnt need to do the test.

FINALLY, I was done. While walking to the entrance, I realised I had dropped the wrong locker key into the basket. I rushed back and searched for the #39 key but I couldn’t find it. They asked me if it was #393 I said no and continued searching. I couldn’t find the locker I used to put my stuff in and so looked for that too. After a while I stepped back and another guy asked me if I was sure it was #39 I said yes. and saw that I had left the #29 locker key on top of the locker while taking my stuff back. I dropped the right key back and they told me to go and check again if I saw the wrong number. So I walked all the way back to (close to) the entrance of the place. $&@%# it was locker #393. I rushed all the way back to the room and got back the key and FINALLY I was done with the whole experience.

Venetian snares released a new track, “My so-called life”.   “so-called” hahaha (inside joke), anyways, moving on

It starts out with harp, violin and what sounds like a echo-y (reverb?) background violin. The harp gets into a glitchy sounding beat and some form of vocals join in. It goes quiet for a moment and what reminds me of 16-bit music with violins start. Later on, his usual breakbeats (drum) come in and the track ends in similar to the way it began.

The track is quite reminiscent of his songs in the albums “Rossz Csillag Alatt Született” and “My Downfall (Original Soundtrack)” [not really a soundtrack]. Which were a combination of orchestral tracks and breakbeats. The track was lighter (in terms of intensity) then Rossz but heavier than My Downfall in my opinion, so I’m interested to see how the other tracks are like.

His style overall has been the same (in my opinion), which isn’t a bad thing. But when peoples style in music changes its quite risk.

Boredoms (Japanese band) has 3 drummers and eYe (guy jumping) who plays a 7 necked guitar with drumsticks, some electronics, open reel tapes and does vocals. They sometimes have a guitarist too

They moved from a noise rock oriented phase to a more psychedelic style but their sound has always been quite experimental. Personally I like their later phase a bit more, but their earlier songs sounded more fun. Their change in style went really well and didn’t have much protest. From what I’ve heard, their live concerts are really good and recordings don’t do them justice. I just hope to at least be able to go for one of their concerts to see if the hype is really true.

It’s already the third week of school, assignments seem to be quite rushed and everyday there’s something to be handed in before receiving another task. The days have been flying by and it didn’t really feel like three weeks. But overall school has been quite alright and seeing that I haven’t missed any deadlines, it’s quite manageable but still really hectic. At first, I was thinking of joining a CCA but with the work so far, I’m thinking that if I join one, I won’t be able to cope. Hopefully in the weeks to come, I Manage my work better or less assignments are given. ◎

Kick-Ass… again

I got persuaded to watch Kick-Ass again.

This time, I get to watch Kick-Ass and have tickets that say KICK-ASS.

I still think its a good movie in the fact that I could watch it a second time and still not get bored at any point.

Still, I wouldn’t watch it a third time, at least not anytime soon. (I still want to watch Iron man 2!!!)

After that, we played a few rounds of pool and then went to the arcade. Played Daytona about five times with six people.

Went to KFC after that and ended up ordering the same thing I ordered on Friday.

I’m probably not going to want to eat KFC for another week…

Like Regular Chickens

The first two weeks of school have been fine so far.

Assignments seem to get quite rushed, maybe its cause actually doing some work after doing a whole lot of nothing.

Couldn’t think of much for the blogpost, the last time I tried to keep a blog I ended up posting once in six month.

Haven’t eaten at Makan place yet, it seems too crowded all the time.

NP should have a KFC, I’m not the subway sort of person.

Speaking of KFC, they should bring the KFC double down to Singapore.

“540 calories of salty bacon and cheese goodness sandwiched between fried chicken.”

After a week of Honey Glazed Ribs and KFC, I wouldn’t mind having more.

Ending off, I just found out that its not 23rd April tomorrow, it’s 30th and Iron man 2 is coming out.
