Exercise 1B [openers]

1. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” said Bob in his best Croatian accent as he felt his false mustache slipping off.
2. Sweating profusely, Ken sighed and pressed on in his journey.
3. Upon feeling a bite from a spider, John let out a loud swear in front of his audience.
4. After driving for an hour to the airport, Jack realises that he had left his tickets at home.
5. Walking down a dimly lit corridor, Dan suddenly hears a muffled scream behind him.
6. Having typed for over an hour, Dudley clicks save and his computer restarts.
7. While home alone, Joe trips and someone catches him.
8. Alex goes to sleep confident about the exam the next day and ends up oversleeping.
9. Chuck wakes up and finds himself trapped in  a coffin.
10. While walking to a big presentation, Guy trips going down the stairs and lands on his laptop.
11. Closing her eyes for a moment in a boring lesson, she opens them finding herself in an empty classroom.
12. Ben puts on a pair of fuzzy slippers and goes to work.
